I just spent $6 on Mozart’s Divertimento No. 3 K 138. I want to marry the man! So talented. Hahaha, going on…

Lately I’ve been super overtired and can’t really figure out why. I was feeling really good for about 4-5 days when I had lights out around 11 and I would actually wake up at 9. Have you seen that part of Wall-E, where he wakes up and stumbles off his shelf? I make those exact same noises. I think Disney and Pixar just took sound-bytes of me waking up in the morning. Moan, stumble…crash….Oh, I watched Wall-E again last night with my lil bro. It’s such a good movie and we colored together :) ))

Anywho, my late nights have been due to the fact that I’ve re-discovered novels. Dad got me a spy novel from the library called The Spy Went Dancing and it was very interesting. I finished that in about two weeks, about the same time it took me to finish The Templeton Plan that I’ve been reading for school. Now, I’ve started The Great Gatsby. There’s not a lot of plot so far, and generally I like stories that start out with “He fell to the floor, dead, and I’m going to find his killer.” BAM. PLOT. But in Gatsby, the prose and flow of the words are so detailed and…harmonious that you can’t help but go on. Maybe Mozart wrote it.

I do have some more things to scan for brushes, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to get to them until next week.

Until then,

Bonne nuit ;)

Heh, sooooo I posted the other day about how sick I was. Being sick, left me behind on my school and I wasn’t supposed to be online until I finished the rest of my schoolwork. Ya. Yesterday was crazy busy, and my stomach’s still messed up. A few more dramas at work, so look forward to a longer post later ;)

Those of you who follow my blog might be wondering why I haven’t posted any recent stories from work and tales from the homeless. I was supposed to work yesterday, however, my stomach failed me and I had to get someone to cover for me. After that, I proceeded upstairs where I read one chapter of The Templeton Plan (for school), took a 40 minute nap, read two more chapters, and then continued reading The Spy Went Dancing. A few episodes of The Allen and Craig Show (YouTube it!) might have been involved somewhere in that time.

This morning, my stomach was still incredibly off, and “off” doesn’t even begin to descibe it. Basically, I threw up twice and was sweating even though my room was actually quite cold. Fun! But, the power of prayer never fails me and I was soon feeling better by lunchtime and was able to eat a few oyster crackers and sip my Welsh’s Mango Twist Juice.

However, I am scheduled to work tomorrow and have decided I am going because I can’t go longer than a week without my chicken salad croissants. (Which actually may be chicken salad on brown bread because…ya know…croissants are buttery) I should also stop at a convenience store and buy Gatorade because red Gatorade is the best thing ever!!!! when you have an upset stomach.

Thursday, my mom and I are taking a field trip to the mall and (as she pointed out) I always feel better before we go shopping ;) I am hoping to find some new dress clothes and—I’ve never been in American Apparel. I’m really hoping their clothes aren’t as solid colored and trampy as they are in their ads in Teen Vogue. Has anyone been to American Apparel?

Peace out. I’m off to bed.

Inquisitive Mole iPod Sleeve

This adorable little iPod sleeve is made for iPod generations 4th, 5th and 6th–though I wish it would fit my iPod Touch! Isn’t the little mole is so cute, you just want to  hug him? The creative designer behind this is WonderfulDay and you can view this listing here.

Check out our new Brushes page, with a featured set of Vintage Road Map Brushes derived from the recently uploaded Vintage Road Map Stock!

Browsing Etsy is something that never gets old for me, especially when I find something pretty or colorful like this print, titled Simmer -Print, from Yellena. This print is so intriguing and fun, it should be printed on fabric and turned into a summery 1960-style dress. That, my friends, would be the coolest thing ever.

A few months ago, my mom found a bunch of road maps from the 1930’s at our library. The other day, I decided to scan (a few of) them and post them up for all of you to enjoy!! Here’s the link.

And you can look forward to another new page soon, as I will be presenting another addition to my blog :) Can’t tell what it is though. **cackle**

In other news, it’s seriously cold out!! We’re talking like -20 :( So sad. Alaska was even warmer than us today, except that they were supposed to be getting 100 mph wind gusts. Eep! So…maybe we don’t have it that bad. However, I always whimper when I listen to the Wall-E song “72 degrees and sunny.”

I’m sorry this is such a short and boring post, without much of a point or topic, but I will be posting more tomorrow and Sunday, and hopefully showcasing my new, small blog expansion. Woohoo!! :)

Today at approximately 3:30 (EST), a pilot decided to take an emergency landing in the Hudson River after a flock of birds damaged the engines.

There were no fatalities and no one was seriously injured :O That, my friends, is a true sign that God exists.

Check out CNN, Gawker and Daily Herald.

If you’re only going to click one of the links, go to Gawker. People took pictures from their office buildings and with their cell phones and the pictures are truly incredible.

Mini Moss Terrariums set of 3

One of the featured articles on Etsy is by madebymavis for her Mini Moss Terrariums. So cool. I want ten of these to put around the house! Especially this time of year, when spring is in the far-off distance, it would  be really nice to have some greenery around. Best yet, how cool would it be to put a little salamander in one of them? (The top might need to be left open for the poor thing, though)

If you have iTunes, you know the variety of things you can find. In my library you can find songs from Wall-E, by Hannah Montana, Jason Mraz, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, P!nk, and Survivor (you know…Eye of the Tiger).

Then, I found Podcasts and, of course, once I saw that they were all free I started downloading like crazy. Why not try some new things? If that’s not good enough, once you subscribe to a Podcast it automatically updates you with the last episode the next time you pull up iTunes.

Of the Podcasts I downloaded and subscribed to, I downloaded several semons by a preacher named Matt Chandler.

Now, don’t get all Ugh, stupid Christians with their denim skirts and Holy-Ned-Flanders-like talk who go to church every Sunday and think they’re better than the rest of us. Because if you even dare think about hitting that x button, I will tase you.

I’m as sick of the stereotypical sermons as much as the next guy. I don’t like getting up early to hear “There was a girl. She died. We’re all going to die. The end.” Since the move, we’ve had to find a new church and I’m not completely happy about the church we’re going to now. The one pastor has a really high pitch voice and emphasizes every syllable when he needs to make a point. So much so, that it’s hard to understand what the sermon is about.

What I really like about Matt Chandler’s sermons is that he only goes through a segment of the Gospel at a time. It’s impossible to lose track or day-dream, because you actually understand what he’s talking about. Plus, there’s even some humor, too.

Whether you’re going to spend the rest of the day on YouTube, or are on your way to work or school, I encourage you to download one of the sermons here, or click  here for iTunes. You can also view the church’s website here.

Let me know what you think! :)

The Girl

HI I'm Mary, and I am a homeschooled high school senior. I was born and raised in a Chicago suburb of 30,000 people, I now live with my family beyond on the "cheddar curtain" in small town with a population of 10,000 people.

My interests are spread far and wide. I love writing mysteries, plotting and creating characters. I am also interested in law enforcement and am constantly talking about BOLO this and barricade tape that.

I am a Christian, and am always on the lookout for new ways to praise the Lord. One of my goals in life is to help people realize that praise and worship is not boring or being stuck in church trying to decifer lengthy text. I try to be a good witness for God, though I was born with a little bit of a feisty streak that tends to compete with my innocence :)
